The Southport New Comedian Of The Year 2018 - Sponsored by The Potting Shed

The Southport Comedy Festival is delighted to launch the 8th annual Southport New Comedian of the Year competition. For the first time this year our friends at The Potting Shed are sponsoring this hunt for Homegrown Comedy

Heats will take place in the run up to the festival at the fabulous Potting Shed, on Southport's iconic Lord Street. Heats are scheduled for Sundays 16th and 30th September. The Grand Final will also be held at The Potting Shed, Lord Street, Southport on Thursday 11th October.

The winner will be selected by a panel of judges to win the coveted title of ‘Southports New Comedian Of The Year’, in addition they will also receive a special prize sponsored by The Potting Shed.

This show is normally a sell out so this event will be one of the highlights of the festival.

The competition is open to all unrepresented comedians (do not have an agent), with not more than 24 months experience of performing before paying audiences.
